Harrogate MP’s Visit to the Afghan Kitchen Friday Feast

What a fantastic time we had last week at the Centre with a special guest, Andrew Jones, MP – pictured here with our Chair of Trustees, Judith Bell.

Our Friday Feast Initiative is all about enjoying a hot meal in a warm and caring environment. We were delighted that Andrew was able to experience it first-hand. He really enjoyed exploring our newly revamped centre and meeting our incredible team, dedicated trustees, and the wonderful folks who benefit from our services. The cherry on top was the mouth-watering meal from The Afghan Kitchen, led by the inspiring Nahid Hamid (pictured here), who found refuge here in 2021 after leaving Afghanistan. Nahid showcased a range of traditional Afghan dishes which were extremely popular with all the guests! The Afghan Kitchen will be running pop-up restaurants in Harrogate and Knaresborough in the coming months, as well as offering catering for business or personal events.
