Mind in Harrogate District provides a confidential, professional counselling service accredited by British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
The service is for anyone who may feel:
- low in mood
- a sense of loss
- difficulties in their relationships
Counselling can help lead to positive change with increased self-confidence, self-esteem and the ability to face the future.
How can we help you?
Our qualified counsellors are all certified to at least Diploma level, while the majority of our volunteer counsellors are working towards their Diploma and full accreditation.
All our counsellors are police checked, insured, and are members of BACP. They are rigorously selected and monitored by our Counselling Coordinator and they also have external professional supervision.
What Does Counselling Involve
Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk about issues affecting your life in a safe and confidential environment.
At your first session you will meet your counsellor to discuss how they can help and then propose a way forward. Your counsellor can provide you with up to 20 sessions which will be on a weekly basis.
It will help you to explore your thoughts and feelings in order to change behaviours and achieve your goals.
The service is offered at an affordable price, £35 per session for people in full employment, £15 for people in part-time employment or £5 for people in receipt of benefits.
The service operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 7pm in Harrogate town centre.
