Mind in Harrogate District Welcomed Tom Gordon MP for Mental Health Discussion

Mind in Harrogate District was pleased to announce that Tom Gordon MP visited The Acorn Centre on Friday, 28th February, to discuss the essential mental health and wellbeing services the charity provides to the local community.
The visit showcased the wide range of support Mind in Harrogate District offers, from helping individuals struggling with poor mental health to promoting overall wellbeing. The team demonstrated the positive impact these services have on the people and communities they serve.
Tina Chamberlain, Chief Executive of Mind in Harrogate District, said:
“We were excited to welcome Tom Gordon MP. This was a great opportunity to highlight the vital services we provide and discuss the ongoing importance of mental health support in our region. We looked forward to exploring how we could improve care, reduce stigma, and support mental wellbeing for all.”
Tom Gordon MP said the following:
‘It was a pleasure to visit Mind in Harrogate District and meet the dedicated volunteers, staff and community members.
‘Mental health support has never been more crucial. With many people feeling the strain of the cost-of-living crisis, charities like Mind in Harrogate District provide a vital safety net. One in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year, and no one should have to face that alone.
‘We must continue supporting charities like Mind, as they play an essential role in helping people through difficult times.’
The visit was a key step in raising awareness of the need for continued mental health support and funding in the area. Mind in Harrogate District hoped the discussion would help shape the future of mental health services in the region.
