Dr. Sana Fatima

Trustee

Sana is a Consultant Psychiatrist working in Early Intervention Psychiatry within the NHS. She brings a broad foundation of clinical expertise, having worked across multiple medical and surgical specialties before choosing to specialise in Psychiatry. Dr. Fatima has a strong interest in Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry and Health Education, underpinned by a deep commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.

Sana is an Executive Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Special Interest Group, where she leads on communications and media. In this role, she launched their official social media presence and works as an editor for the RCPsych Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry newsletter, supporting knowledge-sharing and community engagement across the field.

In 2021, she led a regional initiative across Yorkshire and Humber, developing a professional support and wellbeing programme for resident doctors and dentists. Nationally, she played a key role in advancing awareness of neurodiversity in medical education, leading the faculty development stream. Through this work, she advocated for greater recognition of neurodivergent doctors and the urgent need for cultural and structural reforms.

Her work reflects a strong belief in creating systems where diverse experiences are recognised, valued, and empowered. As a trustee, she aspires to champion inclusive mental health support, drive systemic change, and ensure that every individual — regardless of background or neurodiversity — has equitable access to compassionate, effective mental health care.
