COACH Gyms Take on Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for Mind in Harrogate District
The team from COACH has volunteered to tackle this grueling trek across the Yorkshire Dales as part of their commitment to raising funds and awareness for mental health initiatives in our community. On 9th June, the team will summit three of Yorkshire’s highest peaks: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough, covering a distance of approximately 24 miles.
“We’re thrilled to be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge as a team in support of Mind in Harrogate District,” said Jimi Brown, Manager of COACH, Harrogate. “This challenge not only tests our physical endurance but also highlights the crucial role that exercise plays in supporting mental health. We’re not only raising funds but also raising awareness of the positive impact that physical activity can have on mental well-being. By coming together as a team, we hope to inspire others to join us in supporting mental health initiatives and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental illness.”
“Being out in nature provides invaluable benefits for mental health,” added Jimi. “Studies have shown that spending time in natural environments can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while promoting overall well-being. We’re grateful for the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales while supporting such an important cause.”
Supporters can contribute to the team’s fundraising efforts by making donations online, with all proceeds directly benefiting Mind in Harrogate District and their vital programmes and services.
