£37,000 raised at dazzling Bright Bling Ball for young people’s mental health

Mind in Harrogate District is celebrating the success of its biggest annual fundraiser, The Bright Bling Ball, which raised an incredible £37,000 for children and young people’s mental health services.

Held on Saturday 20th June at the stunning Orangery at Newby Hall, the event brought together supporters, businesses and the wider community for an evening of sparkle, generosity and celebration. Guests enjoyed a fizz reception, three-course meal, live entertainment and a lively auction, all set against a colourful ‘Bright Bling’ theme.

The charity has extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. Special recognition goes to Newby Hall & Gardens for hosting the event, Event Prop Hire for transforming the space, and Stagecoach Performing Arts Harrogate for their beautiful performance and amazing fundraising.

The event was made possible thanks to the generous support of John and Pat Barnes, who sponsored the ball. This meant that funds raised from ticket sales, the auction and raffle can go directly to supporting local children and young people.

“We’re incredibly proud to support this event and the vital work being done for children and young people locally. Seeing the community come together with such generosity and energy was truly inspiring.”

A standout moment of the evening was the auction, led by Richard Smailes of FSS Property, whose energy and humour helped drive generous bidding across the room. Prizes were kindly donated by a range of supporters, including Dart Marina Hotel and the Seahorse Restaurant, Gowan Jewellers, Rudding Park Hotel, Anita Bowerman, The Pickled Fork and Sommelier’s Choice, alongside other generous contributors.

One of the most unique prizes of the evening was donated by Antiques Roadshow expert Susan Rumfitt – an afternoon tea at Swinton Park, with the chance to hear from her, and her Antiques Roadshow colleagues Steven Moore and Will Farmer, about the world of antiques.

Thanks to all the donors’ generosity, every pound raised through the auction will go directly towards supporting children and young people in the Harrogate district.
All funds raised will support Mind in Harrogate District’s Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service, which provides early intervention and emotional wellbeing support to young people across the local area.

“We’re still on such a high from this year’s Bright Bling Ball. It was an unforgettable evening and a powerful reminder of what our community can achieve together. The funds raised will make a real difference to children and young people in our local area.”
