Mental Elf 2025 raises an amazing £6,549.49 for Mind in Harrogate District!

We are thrilled to share that this year’s Mental Elf event was filled with warmth, connection and festive joy – and thanks to everyone who took part or supported us, it raised an amazing £6,549.49 for Mind in Harrogate District.

A heartfelt thank you to every runner, donor, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who helped make this possible. The total may continue to grow as sponsorship comes in, and if you would still like to contribute, you can make a donation here.

More than 270 people signed up to take part, and around 250 joined us on the day – a fantastic turnout that reflects the strength and kindness of our community across Harrogate and the District. People of all ages and abilities walked, ran, dressed up, laughed and lifted one another along the way. Moments like this remind us just how powerful it is when people come together for a shared cause.

We were honoured to have local MP Tom Gordon start the run – and even more touched that he took part alongside everyone else. Our thanks also go to Pete Egerton from Your Harrogate, who hosted the event with warmth and humour, helping create a joyful and inclusive atmosphere throughout.

Behind the scenes, over 40 dedicated volunteers made the day possible. Their time, care and encouragement ensured the event ran safely and smoothly, and their support lifted spirits all along the route.

Congratulations to our fastest finishers, Caleb Aylesbury and Annmarie Bulcock, crowned our “speedy elves” and awarded a year’s membership at Coach Gyms – a brilliant achievement.

The fancy dress was as inspiring as ever. Barry Clarkson’s Grinch stole first place, closely followed by Gabby Copeland’s carrot. Young elf Annie Astbury also received a prize for her brilliant festive outfit, and Lily the dachshund captured hearts – especially in her photo with Tom Gordon, who kindly helped judge the entries.

Mental Elf is about so much more than crossing a finish line. It brings people together, sparks conversations, encourages wellbeing and raises vital funds so we can continue supporting local people who are struggling with their mental health.

Your involvement – whether you donated, dressed up, volunteered or took part – helps make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone. That really does make a difference.

A special thank you to our sponsors Verity Frearson Estate Agents, Coach Gyms and Strive Group, and to all organisations who donated prizes. We are also grateful to Ruth Hirst Photography for capturing the day so beautifully.

Thank you again for being part of such a special event. We are already looking forward to next year – and if you would like to help us increase the fundraising total, donations are still being accepted. You can make a donation here.
