This November, We’re Teaming Up with Harrogate Town AFC for Men’s Health Month
This November, Mind in Harrogate District is proud to be partnering with Harrogate Town AFC to shine a light on men’s mental health for Men’s Health Month. Together, we’re encouraging everyone to talk, connect, and look out for one another.
At Mind in Harrogate, we know how powerful connection can be. Football brings people together – whether it’s sharing a matchday moment, chatting about the game, or checking in with a mate. However you connect, it matters.
As part of this campaign, one of Harrogate Town’s first-team players will be sharing his own experience of how talking helps when things feel tough. By opening up, he hopes to encourage others to do the same – to start a conversation, however small, and take that first step towards support. Because when we talk, we break down stigma. And when we listen, we help others feel less alone.
Throughout November, supporters can visit the Fan Hub and take part in “Leave a Message, Lift a Mate” – a space where fans can write messages of positivity and encouragement for others to read. It’s a simple idea with a big impact. A few kind words can make a real difference to someone who’s struggling.
We’re also really pleased to support the launch of “It’s Your Corner”, a new space in the Myrings Stand, available from the Walsall match onwards. “It’s Your Corner” is a welcoming area for fans who want to enjoy the match in a friendly, relaxed environment – a place to feel part of something, to connect, or simply to enjoy the game together. Whether you’re attending alone, new to the Club, or just looking for a bit of company, this space is for you.
If you or someone you know is finding things hard, please remember that support is always available. You can reach out to Mind in Harrogate District for free, confidential advice and support – or visit Harrogate Town’s Mental Health, Wellbeing and Abuse Support page for details of local and national services.
Let’s keep the conversation going – on and off the pitch.
