Mind in Harrogate District Wins Contribution to Mind Federation Award
Mind in Harrogate District is proud to have been recognised with the Contribution to Mind Federation Award at the Mind Excellence Awards 2025, celebrating our strengthened leadership, collaboration, and strategic influence across the national Mind network.
Following a significant organisational restructure in 2024, our CEO gained the capacity to take on a national leadership role—joining the Federation Leadership Group and co-chairing the Smaller Local Minds group. This involvement has amplified the voices of rural communities and smaller Minds, ensuring they influence federation-wide planning and strategy.
We have also built strong partnerships with neighbouring Minds, contributing to joint service design and training delivery, as well as regional collaborations such as the Humber and North Yorkshire Partnership. These relationships have expanded service reach, increased our national visibility, and enabled us to support communities that had previously been underserved.
The support of our trustees has been instrumental. By investing in additional management capacity and organisational resilience, the board has enabled more dynamic leadership and innovative service development. This strategic investment has equipped Mind in Harrogate District to better anticipate change, protect essential services, and encourage innovation.
Today, Mind in Harrogate District plays a key role in shaping national conversations—advocating for place-based approaches and championing the needs of rural and remote communities. Strong relationships with colleagues across the Federation ensure that service users benefit from tailored, community-focused support aligned to local needs.
Tina Chamberlain, Chief Executive at Mind in Harrogate District, said:
“We are incredibly proud to receive the Contribution to Mind Federation Award at the Mind Excellence Awards 2025. This recognition reflects the commitment of our team, trustees, and partners who work tirelessly to amplify the voices of rural communities and smaller Minds. Strengthening collaboration across the Federation has enabled us to influence strategy, broaden our reach, and help shape a more responsive, inclusive mental health system. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this journey.”
In addition to winning the Contribution to Mind Federation Award at the Mind Excellence Awards 2025, Mind in Harrogate District was also Highly Commended for our partnership work. As a small local Mind, partnership is central to our ethos. Through initiatives such as Route One to Wellness, and close collaboration with Community Anchor Organisations, we have expanded service reach, influenced wider system change, and developed innovative support for children, young people, and underserved communities. This recognition highlights the impact of our joined-up approach and the commitment of our team, partners, and trustees to delivering high-quality, community-focused mental health support.
