We’re recruiting a Volunteer Co-ordinator!

At Mind in Harrogate District, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

Every conversation, every wellbeing group, every moment of connection starts with people who give their time, compassion and energy to support others. That’s why we’re excited to be recruiting a Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our friendly, values-driven team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, believes in the power of community, and wants to play a hands-on role in improving mental health across Harrogate District.

A role that really matters

As Volunteer Co-ordinator, you’ll be the main point of contact for our volunteers – welcoming them into the organisation, supporting them in their roles, and helping them feel confident, valued and supported.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across our befriending and wellbeing services, helping to recruit, train and support volunteers who provide vital one-to-one and group support to adults experiencing mental health challenges. From reducing loneliness to building confidence and connection, the impact of this role is felt every single day.

Based at our Acorn Centre in Harrogate, but working across the district, you’ll also help raise awareness of volunteering with Mind — attending community events, building local connections and sharing opportunities online.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need to have worked in mental health before, but you do need to care about people.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable and confident managing their own workload – someone who can balance the practical side of coordination with empathy, warmth and clear communication. You’ll enjoy supporting others, working as part of a small team, and helping volunteers thrive in their roles.

We actively welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health challenges and from communities who experience mental health inequalities. We believe our team should reflect the people we support.#
