Mental Health at Work Commitment

The Mental Health at Work Commitment is a simple framework based on the Thriving at Work standards, pulling from the pledges and standards that are already out there, using up-to-date research, from UK employers and mental health experts.

Mind in Harrogate District has signed up to the Mental Health at Work Commitment, reinforcing our dedication to a mentally healthy workplace. This means we are prioritising mental health by developing a structured programme of activity and ensuring our work design and culture support positive mental health outcomes. We are committed to creating an open and supportive environment, increasing confidence and capability across our organisation. We will provide practical tools and support to help our team maintain good mental health. By embedding these principles into our work, we aim to create a workplace where everyone can thrive.

The 6 standards

This framework sets out 6 clear standards based on what best practice has shown is needed to make a difference. Using these, you can create an environment where employees can thrive. Each standard has a set of actions that help you achieve the commitment.

Standard 2: Proactively ensure work design and organisational culture drive positive mental health outcomes.

Standard 3: Promote an open culture around mental health.

Standard 4: Increase organisational confidence and capability.

Standard 5: Provide mental health tools and support.

Standard 6: Increase transparency and accountability through internal and external reporting.
