Boroughbridge Library Mindfulness Event
Mind in Harrogate District are collaborating with North Yorkshire County Council’s Library Service this Libraries Week 2022!
The theme for this year’s Libraries Week, which runs from the 3rd – 9th October, is “Never Stop Learning” and so we are coming together to help Harrogate District residents learn how to practice mindfulness. There will also be an opportunity to learn more general tips on how to better care for your mental health and wellbeing.
Mindfulness is a technique you can learn which involves noticing what’s happening in the present moment, without judgement. It aims to help you:
- become more self-aware
- feel calmer and less stressed
- feel more able to choose how to respond to your thoughts and feelings
- cope with difficult or unhelpful thoughts
- be kinder towards yourself.
The event will be held at Boroughbridge Community Library on Thursday 6th October from 11am – 12noon and will be led by Leah, who runs our weekly Mindfulness and Relaxation Zoom groups. Our Outreach Worker Kirsty, who is based at Boroughbridge Library every Thursday, will also be on hand!
As it’s World Mental Health Day the following week (10th October) it’s the perfect time to spend some time improving or maintaining your own mental health
For more information on this event, or if you would like to join our regular mindfulness zoom sessions, please get in touch with us!
