Mental Health First Aid Training in Masham

Mind in Harrogate District in partnership with Wellspring Therapy and Training are delivering a two-day Mental Health First Aid training course in Masham this March.

The need for mental health training was identified through our new outreach service in the area after discussion with the lovely people at Mashamshire Community Office. The White Bear in Masham have also generously offered their Lightfoot conference room as a host venue for this event, where all 16 participants from local community organisations, charities and businesses will become trained mental health first aiders, helping to improve the wellbeing of the people they support.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. Research and evaluation shows that taking part in an MHFA course raises awareness and mental health literacy, reduces stigma around mental ill health, boosts knowledge and confidence in dealing with mental health issues and promotes early intervention which enables recovery.

Due to huge demand the course is now fully booked! But please do get in touch with us if you are interested in having a course delivered in your area or workplace. We offer general mental health awareness courses in addition to MHFA training.
